Israeli troops and Hamas militants fought intense street battles Sunday around the Gaza Strip’s biggest hospital, leaving the medical facility with dwindling supplies for thousands sheltering there while a power outage led to the death of two newborns, according to doctors there.
Doctors described an increasingly desperate situation at hospitals in northern Gaza, including the biggest one, Al-Shifa Hospital, where they said nearly 40 prematurely born babies are without the incubators they need to survive.
