New Zealand’s Services Sector Returns to Contraction

SYDNEY—Activity across New Zealand’s services sector returned to contraction in October, which BNZ says raises the probability that GDP growth slowed sharply in the third quarter.

The BusinessNZ performance of services index stood at 48.9 in October, down 1.7 points from September, and well below the long-term average of 53.5 for the survey.
