The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) on Sunday stated that they are enabling a passage from the Shifa, Rantisi, and Nasser hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip to evacuate the civil population southwards for their safety.
“The Hamas terrorist organization continues to use civilian structures in the Gaza Strip, including hospitals, for its terrorist activities,” the IDF statement said.
A senior officer in Israel’s Coordination and Liaison Administration to Gaza spoke with the manager of the Shifa Hospital multiple times and presented him with possible passages from the hospital.
The Israeli government contends that its military operations are focused on targeting Hamas combatants located in proximity to these hospitals and has issued advisories for the evacuation of these health institutions.
Following repeated calls for Gazan residents to evacuate from northern Gaza for their safety, the IDF is now advancing Gaza to eliminate Hamas fighters. They have closed down all localities in the Gaza Strip.
It was reported that two principal medical facilities in the northern region of the Gaza Strip ceased admitting new patients. According to the healthcare personnel, the cessation is a consequence of the Israeli military’s bombardments, coupled with a critical shortage of fuel and medicinal supplies.
The medical establishments situated in the northern part of the Palestinian territory are currently encircled by Israeli military forces, rendering them scarcely capable of providing adequate care to the patients within their walls, as per statements from the medical staff.
Israel declared war on Hamas more than a month ago after militants rampaged through southern Israel, killing about 1,200 people and taking more than 200 hostages, according to Israeli officials.
