Atlas Air Boeing cargo plane catches fire mid-air, makes emergency landing in Miami

An Atlas Air Boeing 747-8 cargo plane encountered a harrowing situation shortly after takeoff, necessitating an emergency landing at Miami International Airport on January 19. 

The aircraft suffered an engine malfunction that led to visible flames erupting from the left wing, as captured in unverified videos circulating on social media platform X.

The crew promptly adhered to standard emergency procedures, ensuring a safe return to the airport without any reported injuries.

The incident had significant repercussions, prompting the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to temporarily ground 171 aircraft for thorough safety inspections.
